Minishorts: That new stage of life

Hi there. Been a while. Been busy chasing money, building my career, chasing a dream.

Today, we've sort of arrived where we planned to arrive by our mid thirties. It's been a little over a week since the move to the new place, over three weeks since I left the full time job and almost a month since the maid left us to return to Cambodia. We expected life post the move to be challenging, but when the reality finally fell upon us oh man, these times are extremely hard hitting. I try to be optimistic by telling myself that God must really think we're superbly capable to manage all of these life changes at the same time… The truth is there are several moments in a day when I really feel like breaking down and throwing in the towel. There's nearly no time to breathe! Paul wakes up early, around 7 am every day, and once he's up, there's just no stopping this little energizer until, he tires out and hopefully agrees to take a nap. Once he sleeps, I pray pray pray that it's at least 2 hours so that I get some time to check my emails, complete my scheduled tasks, sweep, mop, fold the clothes, prep for dinner etc. But because we're in a new home, it's also tough on the kid … Meal times are difficult because his appetite fluctuates, he doesn't finish his milk, seldom goes to sleep obediently and he seems to have forgotten that he has been potty trained! (will have to relearn that, but seeing that we're in a new place, I have decided to put that off until we have settled down properly).

I'm grateful that the Lord has brought us to where we are, but ever mindful that He always always requires some lessons learnt in this journey called life. Hoping He cuts us some slack, really need that helping hand these days.
